Utah – part four

The last day of mini-vacation we woke up at 5:30am to get a jump on the day. We have really perfected taking down camp in the dark! We pulled into Arches National Park so early that there were no attendants there to greet us. The hike for the day was one of hubby’s all time favorite hikes: Devil’s Garden.

Soon after getting on the trail hubby spotted two deer. No matter how often I see deer I’m still always excited about it.

We’ve done this hike many times before and it’s always a great hike. We prefer to do it counter-clockwise but forgot this time and did it “backwards”. Oh well, we got to experience the hike in a new light. We didn’t do any of the spurs since we’ve seen them all before and we were on a schedule and needed to get back to Colorado to pick up the puppy. The moon was amazing and crept into a lot of our shots helping to make them look even better.

The fins are some of the coolest features on this hike. I love getting to climb up on them and seeing forever.

We completed the hike in 2 hours and 15 min and ate lunch in the truck as we headed back home. It was a great mini-vacation and now as I’m back home writing this I’m thinking about when and where our next camping adventure will be. I truly love living out of the back of a truck and being in any kind of a wilderness area.
