Moss and Mushrooms

With all the rain/flooding that we have received this past week our “yard”, meaning outside area around our house, has developed a new ground cover of moss and mushrooms. The moss is very beautiful and I would love it if it covered the ground regularly. Especially, the moss that is growing in between the cracks in our flagstone patio. It’s soft and lush and adds a very nice color to the patio area.

The mushrooms crack me up. They are funny looking and come in all shapes, sizes and colors. I don’t know anything about mushrooms growing in the wild so I would not dare to eat one. They seem like something that would be in a cartoon. I don’t know why I’ve always thought of them as silly but I have. They do photograph nicely though.

  1. How creative to see things in a different light….mushrooms are fungi but you have made them beautiful! I love the moss but could do without the mushrooms growing everywhere. Don’t let puppy try to eat one.
    Love the pictures.
