Vancouver, Canada – day three

This day started out so very different for us. I was training for a half ironman so I had to get a long run in before we started the day. I had planned to run along the seawall in Stanley Park before hubby got up so that I could get it done. Hubby said that he wanted to see Stanley Park as well and that he would run with me. Now, let me just say that my hubby is NOT a runner and running is not something he would ever do for fun so this was a big deal! We ran for almost 1 hr and 30 min. It started drizzling towards the end so we were wet and running which I find exhilarating and hubby hung in there like a champ.

Back at the hotel, we couldn’t wait to take hot showers and get warmed up. After defrosting and changing into dry clothes it was time to head back out into the rain. He walked back to the Stanley Park area to visit the Vancouver Aquarium. It was a small aquarium but we had fun watching the otters. They were so fun of energy and were very entertaining to watch.

For lunch we ate at Miko. It was a small very authentic sushi place in the downtown area. We had a lot of the salmon since it was fished fresh from the area and not shipped in. Good lunch all in all.

Afterwards it was still raining and we needed a place to dry off so we stopped into the trendy bar (Grain Tasting Bar) at our hotel to have a beer.

We had dinner reservation for one of the best seafood/sushi restaurants in town at 10pm. 10pm was the only available spot at Blue Water and not our first choice for a dining hour. As the day progressed we saw that we were not going to be able to make the 10pm time frame. We cancelled our reservation and ordered Chinese food to our room. Where we live it is not possible to order food and have it delivered to your door so sometimes when we stay in a hotel it’s a treat for us to be able to do so. Big mistake! It was the worst Chinese food ever! We ate a little bit of it and just went to bed.
