Chicago – day 5

Day five started with me and hubby meeting up with my best friend from college and her husband for a Yankees/White Sox day game. Hubby and I took the Red Line train south to the US Cellular Field. We met up with my BFF at the Chi Sox Bar that’s attached to the stadium. We caught right up as if we haven’t missed a beat all these years. We sat outside since it was such a sunny and beautiful day. We enjoyed the nachos and beers until it was time to head in. We had good seats along the 3rd base line. We got to see a quick Derek Jeter tribute and then game on.

Yankees won 7 to 1, but most importantly we had a great time!

Afterwards the walked to the Cork & Kerry bar for drinks and snacks. It was a nice neighborhood bar with some outdoor seating and of course lots of Sox fans.

By the time we got back to the hotel area it was late and we realized that we were still hungry.

Hubby wanted pizza so we ended up walking to Pizano’s Pizza & Pasta on Madison where he got his pizza and I got my chopped salad. We ate it in the hotel room while watching TV and sitting in the air condition. It was gluttony at it’s best! It was a great trip and we were heading home the next day. Goodbye Chicago…we’ll see ya again sometime!
