Prague, Czech Republic – part four

Our biggest concern of the day was catching the train to Vienna just after lunch so we planned very little for the day. We walked through the Jewish Quarter and the shopping area on Pařížská or Paris Street. The shops consisted of Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Fendi, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Gucci and many more. Since we’re not much for shopping we didn’t go into any of them.

We ate lunch at Kolonial, a restaurant with a cycling theme. There were bikes on the walls and cycling decorations all around. Even the waiters wore cycling jerseys. It was very cute and the meal was good. We broke down and both ordered a thick juicy burger. We had experienced so many wonderful Czech dishes but we couldn’t pass up this burger. We both drank Kozel Dark, a typical Czech Lager.

We had bought our train tickets the day before so all that was needed was to locate the platform for the right train. We found were we needed to be and patiently waited for the train. We sat in first class which sounds a lot better than it really was. There were 3 of us in a private box that could seat 6. The seats reclined all the way down so that you could sleep if need be. It was a 5 hours train ride so we needed to be comfortable. I spent a lot of the time starring out the window at the countryside.
