Hiking – Black Bear GGCSP 06/26/16

Puppy and I were in the mood for a harder hike so we chose the Black Bear trail in Golden Gate Canyon State Park. It is rated as most difficult and is 2.8 miles one way. We parked at the Ralston Roost TH hiked until the Black Bear trail intersects with the Mule Deer trail. The trail is fairly technical and I wouldn’t really care to run most of it but hiking it is just fine.

We had gotten out early enough that we didn’t see anyone else on the trail until we were heading back down. Overall it was a good hike and we were tired when we were done. There was water for puppy along the bottom 1/4 of the trail as it runs along a stream but higher up there was no water.
